Grievance Redressal Committee

St. George’s College, Aruvithura has a well-defined mechanism for redressal of students’ grievances related to academic and non-academic matters, such as internal assessment, victimization, attendance, charging of fees, conduct of examinations, harassment by fellow students or teachers etc.

Objectives of Grievance Redressal Committee

The purpose of the grievance redressal committee is to act as a transparent and unbiased body where a student can report a complaint and to ensure a speedy response in case a student faces any kind of grievances, the functioning of which will itself reduce the chances of occurrence of such grievances.

The principal of the college shall constitute two Grievance Redressal Committees:-

  1. The Department Level Grievance Redressal Committee
  2. The College Level Grievance Redressal Committee

The composition of the Department level Grievance Redressal Committee is as under:

  1. Chairman - Head of the department
  2. Members - Two senior faculty members of the department including one lady faculty member

The composition of the college level Grievance Redressal committee is as under: -

  1. Chairman - Principal
  2. Members – All HODs, Two senior faculty members including one lady faulty member, one senior administrative staff member

Both these committees will deal with all grievances related to academics and administration. In addition, the College level committee will also handle any appeal filed by the student against the decision Department Level Grievance Redressal Committee.
